Five Million Super Smart Cards in Busan, Korea

WASHINGTON and BUSAN, South Korea, July 26, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ Ñ e-Smart® Technologies, Inc., (Pink Sheets: ESMT); ("e-Smart®" or the Company") is pleased to announce that on July 25th, the Company celebrated the roll out of its inaugural Super Smart Card™, in Busan ("Pusan"), Korea at a ceremony sponsored by the Busan City Government, the Pusan Bank, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Busan Bus Association, Busan Urban Transit Authority, Daewoo International Corporation, Korea's major broadcasting bureaus, and Korea's major daily newspapers.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests and Korean and other government officials from China's Ministry of Information Industry and China's Ministry of Construction, Indonesia's Primrose Group (former IBRA principals), Singapore Technologies, etc. As part of the ceremony, these distinguished guest were provided a first hand look at the new e-Smart®-MYbi card on a tour that took them to the AFC infrastructure subway stations, bus terminals, toll gates, universities (student card) and banks.

Pursuant to the Agreement signed on July 23rd between e-Smart® Technologies, Inc., and Mybi Company Ltd., e-Smart® began distribution of the first multi-application e-currency biometric smart card to be used in Busan as a digital city, e-government ID card, payment card for mass transportation, banking, point of sale, internet and other diverse financial payment card transactions.

The Mybi Company, Ltd., is the largest e-Currency infrastructure provider in Korea for public transportation and micro payments. The e-Smart®-Mybi Payment Card Project integrates Mybi's e-Currency product into e-Smart®'s Super Smart Card™ — all payment and security card — and at a ceremony attended by Korean and other government officials and distinguished guests; e-Smart® delivered the first e-Smart®/Mybi Super Smart Card™ to the Mayor of Busan. e-Smart®'s contract with Mybi calls for the distribution of a minimum of 5 million e-Smart®-Mybi Super Smart Cards™ to Mybi's existing and new users initially in the Busan area and 9 other major cities where the Mybi system operates.
